- You cannot be a consultant on many insurance panels without being a diplomate.
- No other doctor is allowed, by ACRB bylaws, to do a review of your bills without being a diplomate, with the Board being oversight for excessive bill cutting by consultants.
- The Board is currently working to get tiered reimbursements for certified and diplomate rehabilitation doctors.
-
More insurance companies will,
and are,
following Medicare’s guidelines for therapeutic care – “passive modalities
are to be
used for 2-4 weeks maximum without therapeutic (active rehab) care.” This
means that
Medicare will only allow a few weeks of modalities without the patients
becoming
involved in the rehab care process. When this is applied to all insurances,
reimbursement will be greatly curtailed without rehab as part of the care
program.
-
Medicare is looking at adding full
coverage to
chiropractic benefits, but will require board certified doctors only for
many
procedures, the same as MD’s. This is something that the Board and College
will
stress.
-
You have a higher degree of defensibility,
in the
event of a malpractice case.
-
You have a greater degree of expertise
when testifying
in court.
-
Your Rehab Board and College are
continuing to work on
providing more benefits and access to care options and will continue to do
so. In the
past seven years, the ACRB has grown to become one of the largest and most
progressive
boards in chiropractic.
-
You will receive a 10% discount with Meyer
Distributing.
-
Your name and contact info (such as
address, phone #,
e-mail, website link) will appear on our active registry, which could be a
potential
referral source.
-
Most importantly, you will
receive the
knowledge to better serve your patients and get a higher level of
reimbursement at the
same time.
